Praise My Soul, The King Of Heaven

From Psalm 108 :: Henry Lyte

Praise, my soul, the King of heaven || To His feet thy tribute bring || Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven || Evermore His praises sing :: Alleluia! Alleluia! || Praise the Everlasting King ++ Praise Him for His grace and favor || To our fathers in distress || Praise Him, still the same as ever || Slow to chide and swift to bless || Alleluia! Alleluia! || Glorious in His faithfulness ++ Father-like, He tends and spares us || Well our feeble frame He knows || In His hands He gently bears us || Rescues us from all our foes || Alleluia! Alleluia! || Widely yet His mercy flows ++ Angels in the bright adore Him || Ye behold Him face to face || Saints triumphant bow before Him || Gathered in from every race || Alleluia! Alleluia! :: Praise with us the God of grace

O My Soul, Bless God The Father

from Psalm 103

O my soul, bless God the Father || All that's within me bless His name || O my soul, bless God the Father || All that's within me bless His name ++ Who forgiveth thy transgressions || Thy diseases all Who heals || Who redeems thee from destruction || Who with thee so kindly deals ++ Far as east from west is distant || He has put away our sin || Like the pity of a father || Hath the Lord's compassion been ++ Bless the Father, all His creatures || Ever under his control || All throughout His vast dominion || Bless the Father O my soul

Psalm Fifty One

Be gracious to me O God || According to Your mercy || According to Your great compassion || Blot out my transgressions || And wash me clean from my iniquity || And cleanse me from my sin ++ For I know that my transgressions || And my sin is ever before me || Against You, and You alone I have sinned || And done evil in Your sight || So You are justified when You speak || And blameless when You judge ++ Create in me a new heart O God || And renew a steadfast spirit within me || Cast me not away from Thy presence || And take not Your Spirit from me || Restore to me the joy of Your salvation || And sustain me with a willing spirit ++ O hide Your face from all my sin || And blot out all my iniquities || Purify me and I shall be clean || Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow || I long to be whiter than snow

There's a Wideness In God's Mercy :: listen

Frederick Faber

There's a wideness in God's mercy || Like the wideness of the sea || There's a kindness in His justice || Which is more than liberty || There is welcome for the sinner || And more graces for the good || There is mercy with the Savior || There is healing in His blood ++ O the mercy of God is a raging sea || Flowing down from heaven || On all who would believe || Administered by faith || In the death of Christ the King || The mercy of God, || That saves a wretch like me ++ For the love of God is broader || Than the measure of man's mind || And the heart of the eternal || Is most wonderfully kind || If our love were but more simple || We should take Him at His word || And our lives would find contentment || In the sweetness of our Lord

None Beside Thee

Christina Rosetti

None other Lamb || None other Name || None other hope || In heav'n or earth or sea || None other hiding place || From guilt and shame || None, beside Thee || None, beside Thee ++ My faith burns low || My hope burns low || Only my heart's desire cries out in me || By the deep thunder of it's wont and woe || Cries out to Thee, cries out to Thee ++ Lord Thou art life, || Though I be dead || Love's fire Thou art, however cold I be || Nor home have I, nor place to lay my head || Nor home, but Thee || Nor home, but Thee

Nailed To The Cross

Carrie E. Breck

There was One Who was willing to die in my stead || That a soul so unworthy might live || And the path to the cross He was willing to tread || All the sins of my life to forgive. ++ Chorus++ They are nailed to the cross || They are nailed to the cross || O how much He was willing to bear! || With what anguish and loss Jesus went to the cross! || But He carried my sins with Him there. ++ He is tender and loving and patient with me || While He cleanses my heart of the dross || But "there's no condemnation" I know I am free || For my sins are all nailed to the cross. ++ I will cling to my Savior and never depart || I will joyfully journey each day || With a song on my lips and a song in my heart || That my sins have been taken away.

Love Divine, All Loves Excelling :: listen

Francis Havergal

Take my life and let it be || Consecrated Lord to Thee || Take my hands and let them move || At the impulse of Thy love || At the impulse of Thy love ++ Take my feet and let them be || Swift and beautiful for Thee || Take my voice and let me sing || Always only for my King || Always only for my King ++ Take my silver and my gold || Not a mite would I withhold || Take my moments and my days || Let them flow in ceaseless praise || Let them flow in ceaseless praise ++ Take my will and make it Thine || It shall be no longer mine || Take my heart it is Thine own || It shall be Thy royal throne || It shall be Thy royal throne

O Worship The King

Robert Grant

O worship the King, all glorious above || And gratefully sing His wonderful love || Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days || Pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise ++ O tell of His might, O sing of His grace || Whose robe is the light, Whose canopy space || His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form || And dark is His path on the wings of the storm ++ Thy bountiful care, what tongue can recite || It breathes in the air, it shines in the light || It streams from the hills, it descends to the plains || And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain ++ Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail || In Thee do we trust, nor find Thee to fail || Thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end || Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer and Friend ++ O measureless might, Ineffable love || While angels delight to worship Thee above || The humbler creation, though feeble their ways || With true adoration shall all sing Thy praise

Let All Mortal Flesh keep Silence :: listen

(from the liturgy of St. James)

Let all mortal flesh keep silence || And with fear and trembling stand || Ponder nothing earthly minded || For with blessing in His hand || Christ our God to earth descendeth || Our full homage to demand ++ Rank on rank the host of heaven || Spreads its vanguard on the way || As the Light of light descendeth || From the realms of endless day || That the powers of hell may vanish || As the darkness clears away ++ At His feet the six winged seraph || Cherubim with sleepless eyes || Veil their faces to the Presence || As with ceaseless voice they cry || Alleluia! Alleluia! || Alleluia! Lord Most High

BJ would like to thank . . .

Our great God and Father, who despite my weakness and unfaithfulness at times, remains constant and faithful always. What an amazing and wondrous thing is the Grace of God, grace that is able to use all roads to His glory. Without this grace I would have no song to sing.

My family, who is always supportive of my comings and goings, especially my Mom, who generously gave me the computer that made this project possible.

The body of Oikos Fellowship, who loves me with the love of Christ Jesus, and accepts me and cares for me. Your friendship is very dear to me.

To all the friends and family who have encouraged me throughout the years on all the many roads that I have travelled.
